Do you think there's any scope in organising a RunnersForum Christmas Social??? Or is that a stupid idea as people will just have even more reasons not to come? lol.

I'm thinking one of the Christmas Runs... perhaps fancy dress for those who dare? A meal afterwards (with pre-booked table, lol!) ??

Any thoughts?!

Would this be during the period between xmas and new year? Might be difficult if people are away visiting relatives etc.

I suppose I was thinking in the build-up to Christmas... I was thinking initially of just a winter social, but I thought it may be an idea to loosely tie it in with the festivities of Xmas. Obviously Xmas to New Year is going to be a 'No Go' area, so anytime in the month of December really??

Only drawback being that a Saturday evening race is going to be very unlikely - not sure how common Saturday Morning races are, or even if that's important!?! Though it did seem to work quite well last time round - particularly if we could find a local hotel for the Saturday Night, heheh.

My vote would be some time in December. If we try to arrange it for after xmas, people might not commit as they'll be too busy thinking about christmas (and maybe a bit skint after xmas). Then after xmas, we could organise another one which could be a new year/spring type event.

I'd suggest early December, or mid-late Jan.

How about Santa's fun run on Sunday morning, December 7th, in Marlow, Bucks?

Would slightly put paid to overly drunken Saturday night, but if there's a cheapish place to stay nearby, it wouldn't be too bad to stay over, run Sunday am and then have a (booked) lunch on Sunday, somewhere.
