Blimey Leece you poor thing but like everyone else has said it takes guts and determination to contiue running when things go wrong, you did tremendously well to continue well done

I have fallen over whilst running not only does the shock of the fall leave you wondering what the hell just happened but all your dignity goes with it too, not funny at the time but when I look back I laugh...

GEAR oh dear.

Sorry to hear about your disaster. Am new to the forum but I only came across it because I was looking for a run to avenge my abysmal GEAR run. Having felt in reasonable nick, having done 34:59 at GYRR 5 mile series race 1 ten days before, I completely cocked up and came in at 46:47. Then went back to Yarmouth last night and did 34:31.
What I do think though is how rubbish the GEAR is, from a running point of view. Oh yeah, you get the sights and sounds of my glorious home town (?!!) and the crowd was pretty good but why the hell does it have to start in Tuesday Market Place? It is a pain from a parking point of view (you weren't the only person late) and rubbish as a start (one of my mates recorded 3:08 to get from the gun to the start line!!!). Then why does it have to bend round every concievable corner of the town centre before going out of town? Given the Borough Council must have taken £20k or so in receipts, surely they could have closed the outer roads and had a circular run starting in the Walks (the bit where you had to go up and down the central avenue)?
I think I might give the run a wide berth next year, which is a shame considering I can walk to the start from my office, but I am sure that simple is best when designing courses which runners enjoy (GYRR series being a classic example).
Any views - presumably there were a few PB's at GEAR?

Will be back on 21/5. I didn't think the heat was too bad with the breeze as I didn't enjoy how cold the first run was.

Blimey Leece...I've missed all the excitement!

So what I want to know is... how far did you actually run on the day of the race...and what was your total time. Then you could work out what your 10k time was
