Are all Nike shoes rubbish???

There's no shortage of people booing at the big corporation, saying they're 'rubbish' 'bad for your feet' blar blar... but ...is this just a anti-Nike thing? ...or is there any truth behind my friends of friends stories?

Surely top athletes wouldn't just sign with them for the money? Or am i being nieve?

Please....has any body anything good to say about Nike? (And If so, which ones?)

Cheers

R

I have used Nike Pegasus once. And it was quite ok. My feeling is that specialist nike running shoes should be fine. My feeling is that they are available only from specialist running shops. You won't generally find them in the sport fashion shops.

I use nike structure triax 9, which a got from my local running shop (fit like slippers).

When I did my first run (8.5 miles), I purchased a pair of nike shoes from a high street sports shop. Did the training and the run ok, but shortly after started to have problems with my knees.
A friend at work, who as been a club runner for years, advised me to go to a proper running shop and take the shoes with me.
I was told by the shop staff that although these were purchased as nike running shoes (as per sign in shop) they were fashion shoes.
"They put a piece of rubber up the toes and call them running shoes, so many injuries are caused through this".

Shoes from the proper nike running range have a picture of a guy wearing a hat, and the name 'Bowerman' inside.

I'm sure top runners like Paula Radcliffe would'nt wear nike if they are rubbish. But only buy from a running shop.

I've quite liked the feel of the Max Moto range when I've tested them before.

And my current favorite shoes are Skylons - they're lovely :-)

Them Nike + black ones seem good.

Im gonna visit a running shop early next year and get some better ones tho.

I do love the nike + thing tho, it had helped me keep running otherwise i would have quit by now.
