The 2 hour barrier...
... is history
I trounced it this morning running 13.1 miles in 1:57:58:39. Ave pace 9:00 /mi and ave speed 6.7 mph
I am over the moon and it just shows what can be achieved if you stick with it. Interestingly I did take a cereal bar with me this morning which I ate at mile 7 having had a banana before I set out. Hard to tell if it made a difference as I was pushing harder than before. It was hard to swallow on the run

That's brilliant, you should be proud of yourself
I hope it doesnt sound to soppy to say you're an inspiration to me, one of the reasons I keep going with my running is hearing stories of yours and others peoples success!

Aww thanks Liz. Everyone inspires someone, including the lurkers on the site. Even your small steps will have inspired someone. Good to see you adding to the Bejing miles

well done, aitch!
that's my current time for a half, well, last April. Got another half next week but I've developed a tight calf muscle somehow yesterday when I was out running 8 miles so I hope my next race won't be impeded by it. Last long run today in about and hour and then an easy week before the race. You're making good progress

Good running H, well done.
I was aiming to try and join you elite sub 2 half'ers at Brum in 2 weeks but with the way my achillies is at the mo its looking more like sub 4 being my aim.
So whats your next target 1:50 by New Year?

Next target is to break it in an actual race once I have done the Castle Coombe social, which will be my first ever race.
And elite I certainly ain't. What I am is steady, I maintain the same pace, give or take, throughout.

Well done Hrun. That is mighty impressive!. I seriously think you could be running sub 1:20s when you get down to your ideal weight. Now that's a target

I am deliberately trying not to get under the 2 hour barrier because I will be soooo excited/exhilerated when I do it, I just want to delay that amazing feeling.... no, really!!!! (lie mode - cancel!!)
