Hi Leece, sorry you're feeling so rubbish.

I've experienced migraines myself (although never as clusters). I really hope you find something that works for you soon. Oddly enough my doctor said I should exercise more, because mine have always been stress related. Fingers crossed i haven't had one since I starting running properly.

Would definitely go to for a BUPA second opinion if you get the opportunity.

Doctor is rubbish he doesnt know what to do with me regarding it, he has changed my not having anymore babies pill ?

He said that it has something in it that could cause headaches, but surely being on that for 10 years just getting them now is a bit weird... i have to go back in six weeks and carry on taking pain killers every 4 hours, surely thats not healthy for me.

I had them all weekend... friday night was really bad woke in tears as it was so bad.

Ill try your suggestions I am willing to try anything they are getting me down already and I have had them only a week (constant) i feel like i am on a boat constantly with this medication. (pain killers)

Leece, that's terrible, you shouldn't be expected to put up with that for 6 weeks ffs! How soon could you get a second opinion through BUPA?

Hope you manage to sort it out, it sounds absolutely nightmareish.

Sorry to hear it Leece. Reckon Bupa must be the way to go, especially if it is paid for.

Ask your doctor about Zomig. My partner had a bad migraine when we arrived in Scotland for the start of our coast to coast walk. Fortunately, on the next table at the hotel, sat a doctor friend of ours who, after hearing of my partner's problem, went up to her room and came back with a little pill she said would cure it. "You might feel a little wobbly for the rest of the evening but the migraine should go inside the hour", she said. And she was right, and it didn't matter about feeling wobbly because she was going to bed anyway. Next morning she woke up with a clear head and had no further problems all the way across Scotland.
We emailed our doctor friend when we got home to confirm what the tablet was. It was Zomig.
Cheers!

If you have migraines that leave you with reduced vision you can't have nobabypills with oestogren because there's some evidence that they can cause hideous side effects.

So sorry it's still bad :-(

Sorry to read about this Leece, I cannot even imagine how frustrating it must be.

I think trin might have something there as you say it disappeared in May which would have been around the time of longer daylight hours coming in.
A colleague at work has a day light lamp at his desk and I'm sure it is to help him with his headaches.

So sorry to hear that they're back, Leece.

I know what it feels like to have a migraine for a couple of days, but I can't imagine coping with them for 6 weeks non-stop with no idea when they'll end.

I would definitely make use of your BUPA insurance to get a second opinion. If nothing else, they'll have more time to talk to you about it and you'll be able to get answers to some of the things your GP seems not to have explained to you.

Not good Leece, Mrs Squint suffers migraines but not Cluster ones. Have you considered going to a Chiropractor for treatment. If you have health insurance it may well cover most if not all of the cost, mine covers the first £1000 less the excess. Daylight light bulbs for the home and office are no bad thing whether the cause or not.

I use these bulbs in several rooms in the house to combat SAD, which I suffer from mildly

We've got a couple in ours too. Thinking about getting one of those alarm clocks with the light that gets brighter prior to the alarm going off.

i thought about one of those as they are meant to make you feel better when you get up as you dont suddenly jump out of your skin as the alarm goes off..

i always did wonder how they would cope with multiple alarms as i get up for work earlier than sweaty.

the price put me off in the end.
