Same old problem

Well I have had 3 runs since my last visit to the physio, I am resting 2 days after a run. This seems to be working as I feel really fresh for my next run.

But I'm getting that dam pain back in my ankle. Physio said she will keep me active on her appointments for 2 weeks and if I need to go back I can, after the 2 weeks I'll have to refer myself again (will take up to 4/6 weeks to get an appointment). Do you think I should phone and tell her the pain is back?

I'm also worried about getting a steroid injection in the bursa

I think you need to keep going back just to avoid the 6 week referral. Have you identified what the cause ofthe trouble is?

Nope, dont know what the cause is. I have been thinking about this the past couple of days. If I dont know whats causing the problem and address it, it will just keep coming back.

I bit the bullet and went to see her yesterday, she told me I need to test is and to go to the Dr when the pain reaches an 8 then it will be steriod injection into the bursa
Well I've decided if she wants me to test it, I bloody well will.

Have you looked at your trainers and ruled out the trainers being wrong? I just replaced mine and my gait has altered in the last few months and I have a different type with more support.

I have read many anacdotes of people who have cured problems by changing trainers.

Mmm will have a think about it. The first physio I saw told me I slightly pronate with my right foot (this is the problem leg) So maby a change of shoes with a little more support might help.

Thanks.
