Do you wee on the blisters before or after they burst?
(Actually, isn't urine supposed to alleviate the effects of jellyfish stings?) Attachment 152

I don't get blisters but I heard wee does the trick personally I wouldn't try it. But I think someone should for scientific purposes.

I'm curious TT - do they use their own wee, or do you have 'magic' wee
(I'm lucky enough to never have had a blister in my two years running, just being nosy)

Good grief, imagine sharing 'wee' - your own sounds bad enough.

I run with socks... I walked in my old running shoes without socks and got a blister, but with socks I can run and run and run and run and run.
In my scientific opinion, I believe that there is probably an anti-ceptic quality to urine, from the urea which makes it good for cleaning a wound... BUT I can't think of any other quality of urine that would make it good for treating a blister. I know it works on jellyfish stings because the alkalinity of it neutralises the sting itself...
I think i'll go with popping and compeeding.

Isnn't the whole point of a blister that it's a sterile environment for the skin to repair itself in? I very occaisionally suffer from blisters, more from playign football than running (all the twisting n turning) but they never cause me any discomfort, i guess i'm another of the lucky ones!

I can't wait for spring to arrive... then my 6 months of blissful flip-flop wearing will be relised... then no blisters from wearing actual shoes. I'd say, if I stopped being such a girl and wearing woefully inpractical shoes... I wouldn't of had this problem! Ohwell. At least I'm alive.

Exactly... which is why I would never burst and drain them

I would... that's what savlon is for, and makes them a hella-lot more comfy to walk on... *is from the experience of many an uncomfortable pair of shoes being worn* One day I'll buy a comfy pair of going out shoes.

Anyone ever had a blister go septic... when the clear liquid under the skin turns yellow and slimy? Attachment 180
One of the most painful things ever... instantly relieved by bursting the blister. Attachment 181

Sounds absolutely horrible, Ped!
I always pop blisters, clean the area, and put a plaster on; otherwise they just seem to hang around forever. An emptied blister is completely gone in a couple of days, and you can walk on it without morphine
Don't really get any now that I use 2-layer socks tho
