Rib pain.

I have recently had a cough, its gotten quite bad and whilst coughing today, i felt a shooting pain across my left side about midway down, now everytime i cough, take a deep breath, yawn and genrally move my upper body.

I hve never done anything to my ribs and so have no idea whats going on.
anyone with any experience of broken ribs, ect, could you advise me what i have done and what i should do. or shouldnt do.

anyone that wants to make fun of me for being such a wimp is free to.

thanks.

Probably just strained something coughing.

I pulled my shoulder the other day and it hurt to breathe for a couple of hours. Okay the next morning though

Only worry if it doesn't improve in a reasonable period is my thinking

Yeap, probably just pulled a muscle. It's amazing how simple things can cause such pain

Probably is just a bit of muscle strain .... however I did know someone who actually cracked a rib while having a particularly bad coughing fit once! Might be worth getting it checked out if it hasn't improved in a day or so!

That would depend on your normal recovery time. Probably worth cutting back until you feel better.
