Ankle Support

I managed to go 'outside in' again on my weak ankle again yesterday, nothing too serious I hope, just slight discomfort when walking.

My question is, does anyone one else here run with some sort of ankle protection, is it a good idea? and what sort of protection is the best?. I was given a 'tube' thing from the hospital the last time I broke it but it seemed so flimsly.

Regards

Paul

I have a bit of a knee pain and am using a elastic type tube support which I got from my locat chemist. I have doubled it over and it seems to be just the right amount of support for me. Something like that may help your ankle.

Might try that, it's certainly long enough, more like a surgical stocking

Did you / do you find it slightly weird when running that one foot feels bigger than the other ? I did try wearing a support of a different kind a while ago but it felt very unusual.

I tried a neoprene support and yes it felt exactly like one foot was bigger than the other. Maybe you might be betteroff trying to do some strengthening exercises.

Does anyone have a view on if it is money well spent, I went over on the ankle again last night, about 1 mile into my run, not too bad this time but I think I had better start wearing something before I have a bad 'un.
