Its not so much sore as aching.... and feeling just 'not right' .... I'm just getting frustrated that every time I try to run.. i seem to have some aches and pains now !!

Dawnie,
Welcome to the club for some us less biomechanically inefficient runners aches and pains are part of the course but you do learn to manage it. Have you thought about seeing a physio or a sports therapist for some treatment? Are you doing that stretch I mentioned I know another really good one:

Crouch down as thought you were going to sit crosslegged, extend your left leg behind you and your right leg should be tucked under your body (in a cross legged position). Lower down your torso and try and rest your forehead on the floor. Your should feel quite an intense stretch in your bum and hips. Hold the stretch for 30 seconds and then repeat on the other side.

Thanks SE... got it now.... think I might try a run outside later today while its cooler... not as far as I have been running but think it might boost my confidence a bit.

Just been out and did half an hour road running.... not sure how far... not as far as I was doing.. found it a bit more difficult than it was... but at least I'm back out there !! Knee a bit tender.. but not too bad.. going to soak in a nice warm bath now !!

hows your knee feeling Dawnie? whens the race for life? Ive just been out for the first time since my race for life i thought i'd chill out last week it was hard to get back out there this morning especially in the rain but i did it and decided to do my circuit again but didnt run it all power walked some of it, Its the first time ive ever done 6 miles and it wasnt too bad. I hope i wont pay for it later.

Just did my first Race for Life, and despite having a bit of a problem with my knee... did it in 25 mins !! which I am really pleased with, wondered why I was finding it hard going.. didnt realise how quick I was going !! On a high now !!!!

I only did it last night Stotty !! Today I am still on a high !! but acheing in places I didnt know I had ! lol

I feel so good because last year I had a spinal fusion and only started running in March of this year...hadnt ran since school... feel elated at the moment.
