Better to get the Shock Absorber fitted if possible. Same as trainers, I wear a size 11 normally but 11.5 in Nike and 12.5 in New Balance.

its not helpful is it , when they all vary between makes .... i cant fit in brooks running shoes - they seem to narrow , yet asics fit perfect- very annoying .
size 11 to 12.5 for your shoes is an amazing difference though isnt it .

Hayley, hope the wounds are healing up now and you get out running soon. I would second what Hrun is saying about getting fitted somewhere. I had a friend who worked in M&S and they get very little training on how to size properly. I would suggest going somewhere like Bravissimo. That was where I got my sports bra fitted and it worked a treat!

If yours is digging in that much it can't be the right size, or the straps are too tight!

thank you guys
interesting about avon too - thats an excellent bargin !

ok so i swapped the shock absorber bra for a new shock absorber RUN bra - new style specifically for running and after doing 5 miles so far no rubs

be interesting to see how it holds up when i do the bigger runs training for the marathon - will take it 10 miles on friday if the snow goes

thanks for all your advise guys - i was wearing a 38 c and i'm actually a 36 d .

the new bra does feel a bit like my heart attack did but i have to keep reminding myself its a bra not another heart attack

i suppose you are bount to feel a bit of tightness around your chest if something is holding your puppies down

so all in all good news - shock absorber RUN bra - the best so far out of the 13 i have now tried and the cheapest place is wiggle £31

I have just ordered another shock absorber like the one i have got, 18 pound on amazon on offer bargain lol. I am interested in trying the run one like you hayley but not ready to part with the cost at the moment. Plus i want to try and shift some weight first when being the word so hopefully can then order smaller. I to have ordered same size as you hayley same as got now but like you i sometimes feel crushing me but i hate anything tight anyway lol. I could do with being fitted never been fitted, can you go and get fitted without commiting to buying ?

V xx

I found http://www.bounce-busters.co.uk/ brilliant. She even spoke to me on the phone to check I was measuring myself correctly. Not cheap though but worth it. Good luck

this is the trouble isnt it - you want to try them without having to buy them first cause realistically you need to run in them for a few miles to see if they really do do the job , course once you have run in them , you cant then send them back - its a real mither

we could do with rent a bra - where everyone just tries a tester bra before they buy

giggler had a look at that website - interesting

i really do recommend the shock absorber run bra - having honestly tried probably 15 with terrible consequences this bra is the best in every way - i would honestly pay £100 for it and i'm a right tight arse - but thats how good it is

just gotta follow the measuring instructions off shock absorbers website and get someone to help you measure so you know the tape is straight at the back

i was fortunate to have david beckham help me

haha can i loan him now hayley lol. I should get my new one tomorrow, i was impressed with getting it cheaper off amazon wooo hoo. The one i have now i don't really have problems with would rate it, its the b109 shock absorber one and this exactly same but in white this time so should be fine. Might feel little tighter with being new but will get use to it. I should go get measured though at some point make sure in right one etc.

The one thing that put me off the run one hayley was the back of it, is it a racer type back? i know it opens looking at the picture but i don't really like racer backs. Will try it next time i part with money as spent way too much lately lol and that without possible run enteries to come oh dear.

Oh no! I just bought two sports bras (one shock absorber, one triumph) in size 36D after checking a few sizing sites but just did measurements with Booby Doo & turns out I'm 34D!
Buying a new one will have to wait anyway - I'm still losing weight and breastfeeding so who knows what size I'll be in the end?!
What a pain in the boob!

some useful stuff in posts above - thanks ladies.

i'm training for first marathon (VLM) and since I've upped my mileage i've only recently started to get chafing underneath my boobs in the middle of my chest i.e. where the band lies flat.

i'm hoping bodyglide / vaseline combined with plasters will see me right, as I am so devoted to shock absorber in every other respect there is no way i'm changing bra!

interesting to read about how many sports bras we're all using. personally i have about 6 - some low intensity for pilates etc, some super supportive for running. All shock absorber.

A little tip...TK Maxx often have shock absorber in stock (at least they do in my store - hammersmith) for as little as £7. A massive saving on the RRP! Obviously you need to know your size first...but if you do then there are bargains to be had...that's why I have so many
