Ello :-)
I was running until I was 6 months gone. I did stop however because of the tirdness but stuck to gentle gym work. I was easlily running 7 miles + a few nights a week. Just listen to your body and eat plenty. If your Midwife says your healthy keep it up defo!
Good luck

Hi Nancie,
Respect!! I can't tell you how impressed I am, having had to give up at the halfway point and now, at 30 weeks, I have days when even walking's unbearable! Have you had your little one? How was getting back into running afterwards?

Ooh, so exciting! To be honest, the most difficult thing about getting back to running for me was not about regaining fitness ( I didn't have much anyway!), but getting over the exhaustion of being a mother, and finding the time!
You'll be deserving a good pampering and looking after yourself for a while!

So true Liz.
I started running after I had my last baby 2 years ago when he was 4 months old, and it didn't take that long for me to get fit, having had no fitness what so ever before hand. The bigger challenge was making myself get out there when all I wanted to do was sleep! That is why I waited until he was 4 months as by then he was in more of a routine.

Not only that - today she went out and ran the Black course at Ilkley Moor - only for elites, 9.5km over rough tussocky moorland and finished 12th!

Well, now it's my turn to put this to the test.
I stopped running (well, jog/walking as that's all I was doing anyway) at 5 weeks, because every time I went out I got a thumping headache, and I was so exhausted and sick anyway, I had no energy or desire to do anything.
But now I'm nearly 14 weeks, sickness is gone and energy is returning, so I'm back out there. Just tiny short jogs of 1 min this morning, every 5 mins, for half an hour, just to see how it went, and I enjoyed every second. So I'll try a bit more jogging next time (probably Friday).
No idea how long I'll be able to keep going for, but I enjoy it so much and feel so good for the exercise, that I'm definitely going to keep getting out there until it's just too uncomfortable.

Congratulations anyway!!
And glad the jogging is going well now you're over that awkward first stage.

No, I've been away from the forum for a while - mostly due to busyness and then due to not running and also finding it hard to keep being pg a secret when it was too early to really tell anyone!
This was my first post back - just couldn't keep it quiet any longer
