I run because I enjoy it but my how it will affect my health makes me worry abit. I'm really tiny, I'm a small size 8. My concern is next year when I complete my great run challenge that I may loose weight, which is something I really don't want to do!

Running is like mouthwash; if you can feel the burn, it's working.

I did start running to lose weight but then realised it was not as easy as all those runners made it look, but i kept at it and its not about weight loss now i just love the time to myself, the challenge of going that bit further or faster than before. Plus i actually put weight on but i defo have toned up!

Started running when I decided with other members of my family to run Race for Life (intended only to walk but found that I soon got bored). Have not lost much weight but have found that I have lost a lot of inches. But mostly now run because I enjoy it.

Ladies, look in the mirror and not the scales. Happiness is all that matters, not numbers

Easy to say if you don't have a weight issue . Reaching the numbers creates happiness (and I have met a lot of great people on here )

Im running to tone up certain areas. I dont want to lose anymore weight as i weigh 9 stone. I've been a dancer for 18years but still have some wobbly bits so i thought i would take a different approach.

Mainly for fitness and tone up....

just wonder, which part of the body does running help tone up?

Your core and legs are used the most when running, especially longer distances. The arms don't tend to get as much of a workout.
