For me, I find that running isn't actually the best way to lose weight! I'm just doing it at the moment because I enjoy it. After my race is over on Sunday, I'm only going to run once/twice a week, and do other training

I started running to help boost my weight loss as part of a calorie controlled diet. I started 2 months ago and have lost now 22lbs and im so chuffed I feel like a new woman. The running certainly helps and have noticed I have toned up too. I have enrolled with a personal trainer which Im starting with next Friday to help me at the gym to help build my core strength and to lose another few pounds.

I started to run to lose weight, but then got sucked into the race scene and stopped losing weight as I needed fuel
Back to losing weight for me if I ever recover from this marathon.

i run for keeping fit, i used to run when i was younger but after having kids wanted to get back into it, i love running. ive done yoga, kickboxing and swimming but i prefer running.

Im running for weight loss but as others have said, I've got in to racing as well now so doing a bit of both. Weightloss during the training but its slower than if I was concentrating only on weightloss.

I started off purely to lose some poundage, but very soon found muself really enjoying it and entered a couple of races. A few of my mates are all in the same boat and we do the ocassional half marathon and have a little wager on the outcome.

I started running over a year ago to lose weight after having my second baby. I wanted to get fit too, I lost most of the weight I wanted to lose so now I run because I enjoy it and to keep my weight down. I also run to maintain my fitness and I run just because I can!
