My legs to my great shame have gone from Fat tree trunks to Muscular tree trunks, I'm not sure if that helps you, but I now have great definition on my quads from running and my calves from cycling. My waist has gone from 44inch to 38 inch in less than a year, which makes my quad look even bigger.

Oh! I really really dont want to have tree trunks any longer! Do u think that perhaps running is the wrong sport for me if im looking for leaner legs?

I have much the same problem but I am only five foot 2". I have been doing football training twice a week & try to fit in a couple of runs weekly also. I feel I've lost weight on top, my bra size has reduced however, my thighs seem to have bulked up, yes they are a little more toned, but I still have cellulite. My diet is pretty balanced daily I eat couple of pieces of fruit & veg and I drink alot of water. Maybe I should cut out hills in my training, as some one suggested to me, but I think that may be incorrect. How do I aim for slimmer thighs?

No. I'm the same as you (apart from being a shorty). Spent many years riding horses and developed muscular calves and thighs. I've started running and slowly, my legs are toning up. I don't think they will turn into tree trunks if you watch your diet at the same time.

No, I just think you need to keep running. If you burn more then you eat you lose weight and if you keep running your muscles define.

I to have always had chunky calves, have always hated my legs because they should be blokes legs. I am in awe of those women i see with slim and defined legs. I to feel my thighs and calves are chunking up even more, they are still have quite a bit of fat if only i could lose the fat off them and tone them bingo id be ok. I hate showing my legs because they are chunky, i to am only short at 5 foot 2.
Glad to know i ain't alone in this, i sometimes measure my calves to see the other day seemed to have gone up half an inch .

Nothing wrong with shapely legs IMHO. Stop comparing yourselves with others and get on with enjoying life

Don't worry about your legs, your partner won't care. He is with your for who you are... not your legs. If its any conciliation my legs are massive tree trunks after playing ice hockey for 14+ years and don't like them at all. I'll take your legs any day

Only thing that has ever bothered me about my legs is that I would like them longer. My mum always said "They reach the floor so they are obviously long enough". It was her way of saying "I really don't care"
