Dan - no idea if you check on this forum any more - and I certainly hope you are not checking on here right now - you've got better things to be doing.

Huge good luck for the Oly marathon tonight - really looking forward to watching you - believe you've got a fab chance of achieving something special and we will be screaming at the telly for the whole 2 hours!

Go for it!

This prompted me to read Dan's original post - really interesting stuff. He was pretty damn good to begin with wasn't he!

Good luck from me also, Dan!

That was some Marathon, those guys were flying, the guy who was in bronze position and then overtaken looked completely gone, he was running on autopilot I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't remember the last few miles

It was an amazing race. Can't believe they were running at world record pace the first half in those conditions. Truly amazing.

yeah was a great race.. although i was getting annoyed at the comentators constant rants about the pace. If thats the pace they want to run.. let them get on with it.

I stayed up to watch it... truly amazing, but Dan still did us proud, no one could've predicted that early pace that he had to contend with.

And if Dan couldn't be up there, I'm glad a Kenyan got it... well deserved!

Quite. And then they had the audacity to say that GB didn't get a medal in middle or long distance events. I know there's a million more reasons, but if our commentators pour scorn on the pace, then it shows the attitude we have.

Felt really sorry for the guy in fourth. He didn't even have any energy to look distraught when his teammate overtook him. And yet he still was very close to the previous Olympic record.
