Lightbulb Belfast Marathon

Hey everyone,

1st of May is creeping up very soon and I am running in the relay event. Funnily, I was given the longest leg of that apparently 'youth on my side' and all the rest but running was never my event. Sprinting yes...not running miles upon miles!

I was doing really well and feeling very confident in my running but I just can't get the shoulders to relax! When I get tired they tighten up and then I get a severe pain across my left shoulder blade.

Anyone with any life saving tips before I throw myself to the wolves next Monday??

Loulou - you may find it's just a something that you'll grow out of as you run more. I used to get exactly the same when I first started running. I found if I loosened my grip (i.e don't run with clenched fists) and ran with my arms a bit lower it wasn't as bad.

Also just drop your arms/hands completely evet#ry so often to let them ease out a bit.
