Excellent stuff guys... You have my utmost respect just for finishing! Let us know how the official results say you did (not that it really matters!).

Burnsy... I'd be inclined to say the traffic at the start helped you, if you really started to struggle around 21-22miles, then going faster earlier on would only have bought on this pain earlier in the race! At least you know what you are capabale of now so taht next time you can position yourself accordingly

Well done again

well done. I have allot of admiration for the guys on here running marathons. 26.2 miles no matter what time you finish in is something to be very proud of and is a massive achievement.

It shows allot about someone I think that sets out to do something like that and follows it through. Strength of Character and determination to succeed is traits i love to see in people! Not very many have it so be proud!

Again, Congratulations.

Great stuff, Burnsy! The thought of me finishing a marathon is daunting so it's really encouraging to read the race report afterwards from you. You did good and a great time as well

Hi Owain and Burnsy!

Burnsy, respect btw! Really good time for 1st marathon.

It was my first marathon too and finished it in 4hrs 46mins 13seconds. Was well chuffed. My big run was about 18.5miles and thought i was going to come in around 5hrs so was pleased when i realised i was going to be under that.

How good was the guy in his garden, at 25ish miles, with the hose out spraying the runners?!

Was tough in to the wind and then with the wind the sun came out and toasted me!

Well done guys.

Just got my offical time, 3 hours 50 mins and 36 seconds!!! A good 5mins faster than i thought. Well chuffed. Like i say, think i've got the bug now! It has really given me the inspiration to a better life-style. Going to look at some marathons in the not to distant future, any recommendations?

I think with some proper training and a healthier lifestyle i could get below 3.30, i was just a bit warey of going to fast out of the blocks to early, so probably was a good job i got held back at the start! Well done Owain / lairdy21. It has to be one of the best feelings running accross the finsih line doesn't it. I loved it and definately want to experiance that again.

Cheers again everyone for your support and comments.
