Remember the mantra - thou shalt not stop for bacon butties mid run.

Don't forget to build up gently! Nia (Mrs Hrun) did 2 miles today. Like I was she is not ready to leave the comfort of the treadmill and we are to different in ability to run together.

    Ah, the joys of aging.

I reckon you did right. I am no expert but as long you stopped when it warned you then ?. Did you run on the sand, I always find that really hard. Glad the shoes help. Once your knee is 100% you will be flying!

    She is doing well.

She has a heart condition as well as some abdominal problems which mean running is difficult. That said she walks a few miles every few days and adds a 1 min jog into that. I am so proud of her.

This all started as I bought her a treadmill to up her activity and to encourage her I did a bit. From there I am where I am now.

You want tips from me According to most forum replies I get I am probably overdoing it. If it was me I would treat it like I was starting from scratch and ease back in. Last thing you want is to make it worse again. Good luck!

BTW, I don't really do kids, but yours are cute. Bet they are more trouble than they look.

Morning. Sorry missed your message, there was no flag to say it was here.

I find if I rest the following day is harder so I an having easy days instead where I walk more. I am also thinking of pinching her protein as I eat no fish and as Mrs H dislikes eggs we rarely have them so I am probably low. I tend to use Cous cous rather than rice as I find it less stodgy.

The weightloss wouldn't have to happen if I hadn't let it creep on and there is only me to blame. I remember about 5 years ago holding my stomach in and thinking I don't look bad considering I am 30. Reality was I was 15-16 st and seriously unfit.

How is your knee? Still on track for getting out Monday? Bet you can't wait!

Hello stranger. Thank you for the friend request, it is a pleasure to accept! Wondered where you had got to.

I am glad your knee is improving, albiet slowly. Walking on it may be a good thing to stop it going stiff. Don't rush back to the running, however tempting.

We are doing great. I ran 10K yesterday but my calves are stiff so only ran/walked 5 today. I may need to have a rest day as the extra weight I carry puts a lot of strain. Mrs is taking whey powder for added protein which supposedly aids repair. Loads of threads about why you do/don't need supplements but overall and taking her diet into account she thought it was a good idea (She understands far more about nutrition than me. I eat, I get fat. Simple.

Have you murdered the kids yet, cooped up at home?

    Keep Smiling!
