    Amazing session yesterday, Richard!
I agree with what you posted on the Blog that sub 2h40m in London this year is a serious possibility.

    Hi Rich,
I've not been running for a while (since I did my first ever 5 mile race in May). Reason being that unfortunately I lost my job and have been busy working on a new project which launched last week. I've launched an online memorial website called Friends At Rest (you can see it here: Friends At Rest free online memorial website. A virtual memorial to remember them forever). I know this is a big ask but I'm trying to get the site off the ground and get people to start using it. I wondered if there would be any chance of either you (or me if you let me) posting something about it on RF ? I'll happily give people a 50% off voucher if they want to use the site (although it is free to create a basic memorial). The site is also raising money for Help For Heroes through memorials to fallen soldiers in Afghanistan. Have a look and see what you think. I'd welcome your comments. All the very best John.
PS. Hoping to start going running again next week when I get over this stinking cold so I haven't given up for good...!

Can you tell me ho to start a new thread in a particular place. I wanted to put it under marathon but I don't know where it ended up! It's called Dingle Marathon 2009 Done and dusted.
    Thanks

Rich, I've been meaning to ask.... I've used Fetch for logging my training for a good while - before I started using this of course!

Can I import easily enough in to here?

    Cheers for the reply Rich,
I actually made some slight mistakes in my calculations and I realise now that 139bpm -145bmp is around 70-75% MHR!
should I worry that my average HR for a regular run at 7:30-8min/mile pace is around 155bmp? I find most of my runs are somewhere between 78-82% MHR, yet I don't FEEL like I'm particularly pushing it! could it just be that I naturally have a higher HR? although my resting HR is around 48-50bmp so that would suggest my Heart rate is fairly low.

    Rich,

Was just having a quick look at your training blog and I'm amazed to see that your HR for a sub 7min/mile session was averaging 145bpm!!!

Looking a bit further back into your blog I notice that you never go above 150bpm!!! surely this means that you are never entering the Aerobic zone and are always training at only 60-65% MHR??

obviously on your interval sessions you must be hitting higher heart rates, but I really can't understand how you are consistantly training at very low exertion levels (based on Heart rate) and getting such excellent improvements in speed?

can you shed any light on this for me?

    Rich,

Just want to say congrats on the weight, and secondly I've put my good for age in, and yes I put 2.43 ;-)
  9. sturunner
    I haven't yet, think I'll put 2hrs 43..... :-)

I'll be honest I be happy to replicate my FLM time, really happy infact, could do without the pressures of Berlin but I've paid for it now so I'm just going to go and enjoy it and try and do a neg split.
