Coniston 14 is spectacular and I'm definitely doing it again next year. There are hills its not horrendous as there are plenty of downhill sections but you can always do some hill training but you will have to adjust your pace slightly to cope with them

Hi Edwina. I'm new to racing and the forum! The Coniston 14 has been mentioned to me which I'm kinda interested in. I've only run one race 10 mile Bradford Fun Run in 1hr 39. Do you think I would be ok with the Coniston or is it quite difficult. I do run the odd hill when out and about but don't want it constantly in the run. Many thanks for your help. Sharon

Running is never pain free - I haven't really used runners world for a while but I still run in orthotics but in a neutral shoe now.

Thought I recognized that picture just checked back on a thread (about motion shoes and orthotics) I once put on the Runners World site and yes it is the same Edwina, Hope everything is good and your running is pain free and enjoyable.

    Hi Edwina! How are you?

I've been flicking through the forums and see that you know your fair share about running and any problems with running. Sooo I would like to ask a couple questions if possible...

I'm currently training to join the Army and I need to get a good 1.5Mile run time. I've only been doing it for a month and before that I haven't really done much exercise in a long while lol.

I get really bad pains in my lower legs / shins and also ankle's. Just on the outside of my shins I get lumps come up also. I get all of this after just a few minutes running... I have just bought myself some Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 running shoes this morning and went again for my run and still I get the same pains, not sure if I need to just get used to the new shoes or what?!

I run untill the pain is bad then walk and run again after a minute or so? is this ok or should I justs top and rest?

Oh by the way this happens mainly on treadmills, but still when i'm running the streets...

Any help or info on this is muchly appreciated...

Hope to hear from you soon, many thanks

    George

Ran 4 slow miles on Sunday but enjoyed it. I went out last night after work and ran 3 miles first couple were ok but on the way back I struggled to get up the hills. Perhaps it makes a difference at what time of day you go out I did seem to become fatigued really easily.
