hehe great stuff! to be fair, I feel like I'm going to have my work cut out to stay with you - especially as you're doing another marathon before VLM so will have a big headstart on the endurance front. But hey, as long as I get my sub 2:45... I'd be happy for you to get 2:40!

Stu... have you submitted your VLM 'good for age' entry yet? I was just wondering what time you'd predicted for yourself? I stuck down 2:44

I'll be honest I be happy to replicate my FLM time, really happy infact, could do without the pressures of Berlin but I've paid for it now so I'm just going to go and enjoy it and try and do a neg split.

Ah that's a bit of an arse... a right arse in fact! ah well, at least there's no pressure to beat my Edinburgh time (since you did that at London), and I can relax about you breaking 2:45 before VLM

Training, whats that? A slight calf strain seems to have lasted 6 weeks, I can run pain free then a day or 2 days later, out of nowhere I'll be in pain, long story short, too much speed and hill work when not fully recovered from marathon. So I'm basically just doing very light sessions with lots of strecthing and trying to manage the injury. At the moment Berlin will be "get round" rather than what I had hoped, which was sub 2hrs 50.

Indeed I did pick up a little injury, though getting back to rights now after 6days total rest, have managed 2x very easy 5mi run without ill effect. I don't think it was marathon related tbh, almost certain it was due to old trainers as I was starting to feel get a few tight muscles and little niggles before this, checked how far I'd ran in the trainers and it was somewhere in the region of 610miles... a bit of rest, some new trainers and everything seems fine and dandy!

As a result though training has been virtually non existant. Looking forward to getting stuck into some speedwork over the coming months though. Hows training for Berlin?
