Do I hint a job offer?
Or are you just opening up the possiblities?

Have never been so can't be of any real help, but good luck anyway.

Derby have offered me a job but I also had an interview the same day for a job in Manchester and I won't hear about that until Monday or Tuesday. The job in Derby sounds good but a job in Manchester would be my first preference I'm just wondering how long I can keep Derby waiting.

Derby sounds lovely SE... we were visiting running friends on Friday who live over that way and then continued on up to York on Saturday.

I guess it depends on what part of Manchester you go to, I'm sure there must be some nice areas there too, but you only hear about the bad stuff on the news don't you.

I'm sure there are people on here from Derby and Manchester who would be able to give you some insight

Great news with the job offer, hope the Manchester one comes off for you as it is your first choice.

Can't comment on Derby never been...

I've just been offered my dream job in Manchester. I'm getting a slight pay increase and been offered some help with relocation expenses. Just need to find a new running club.

Hi SE,
congrats on getting the new job! I'm from Manchester myself originally and it's got loads of great places to run. I lived in the south side of the city in Altrincham and used to run along the flat canal banks of the Bridgewater. There is also a great place called Sale water park which is connected to a massive open expanse of river banks along the Mersey river and country lanes and you can run off road for miles in peace - that was my almost permanent running place. I still try to squeeze in a run every now and then when I'm there because I loved the place so much. And I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a running club there too. There are a couple of 10k's in city center there now as well, city of Manchester run and the Bupa 10k I think, I hope to do them myself next year, work and everything else permitting. But good luck anyway, and if you need to know any info about any parts of Manchester I'm happy to try and help.

Great News SE I am really pleased for you. When do you start? And if you don't mind me asking what will you be doing?

Hi SE,
Really pleased you landed your 'dream job'. Hope and pray everything goes well for you. And you're only just over the hill from me, so I'll be able to shout if I need any advice!
Cheers!
