Hi all
I think I may have been a member here at one point before though I didn't stick with the program as I`was finding I was having to walk too far to find a place where no one would see me.
Since then I've moved to another flat and live right next to a canal which is only really frequented by cyclists and runners that I imagine won't point and laugh.
I started this time as I picked up a wee book in the library on running out of curiosity and it contained a 10 week plan to get into it. I thought the first week looked very bearable so I took it out and started the program under cover of darkness. I'm currently on week 3 and my session today took me 1.5 miles from home. I was supposed to run 1 minute in every 3 and so I figure I've ran close to half a mile. I walked back home and as it was nice and sunny today I enjoyed it.
The book is called "running made easy" though I can't remember the author.
Next payday I'll invest in a proper pair of shoes I think as I'm not sure how my trainers will stand up to this. I hope to lose a bit of weight by doing these exercises 4 times a week and also keeping better tabs on my diet. My partner suffered a blood clot after a dose of chemotherapy recently and is on medication for 6 months. He is only 30 and so I am determined to look after my health better.
I live with him and my 100 or so exotic reptiles, amphibians and bugs and my 7 pet rats. Can still squeeze the running exercises in when I'm supposed to though.
Anyway that's me and my reasons for joining in a nutshell.

Hi and welcome! Good luck on your training program! I doubt you'll get laughed at by other runners, we seem to be a welcoming bunch.

Welcome....I run in the morning for the same reason...hide behind darkness .. You do have your hands full and it will be nice for you to get a bit of me time....that is what i consider my running to be now...even though i am still puffing and blowing through most runs. SNaP
I'm also on week 3 of the Running Made Easy book. I love it, have read it from cover to cover and again.
I too run in the morning 7am while it's dark. I'm in a village so the only living things to see me at that time are the sheep!
I hurt my leg on Friday while running and will need to rest for a few days. Doctors on Thursday and waiting to attend work's physio. I can see myself having to start all over again when better.
good luck and welcome to the forum.
