Hi i live in manchester and would love to get back into running again but just can't do it i do keep fit by walking and climing mountains and doing scrambles. But would like something else to do

Welcome to the forum! How come you stopped running just out of curiosity?

I'm in Manchester 75% of the time, have you ever thought about joining the clubs there or entering any races (of which there are many)?

Just being lazy my brother dose alot of running i could go out with him but he to fast and fit for me to keep up and most of ny friend don't what to so am left to run alone and thats why i have'nt. I have'nt look at any club i could do but i alway's think it's good to go out with so one as this pushes both off yourself and your patner.

Looking at clubs is a very worthwhile thing as they cater for almost all abilities. From running with a club you can run with people at a similar standard and also go out running with them outside club nights.

Nick's right...join a club it's the only way to improve and socialise at the same time.You'll soon find that many club runners are not that fast or even that fit so there's nothing to worry about.

I'm from South Manchester and I've been toying with the idea of joining the Women's Running Network. They have meetings in Didsbury a few nights a week.
