Sheffield/leeds half

Anyone doing any of these? or ever done them in the past if so what they like? The sheffield one is 25th April and seems to be filling up fast entry limit of 5500. The Leeds one is 9th May i think.

I have been debating between which one to maybe go for. Just dragging it out a bit due to injury to see when i can get back running etc as to whether i will be able to get training in etc.

V xx

Hi Vonnie. I'm planning on doing the Leeds one as my last race before Edinburgh as its part o the club's summer championship. It's quite a quick course, mostly flat.

Hope your injury goes in time for you to train. If you end up doing Leeds I'll come and say Hi.

Hi Vonnie

I'm doing the Sheffield. It'll be my first half, I'm really looking forward to it. If you go onto Runners World they do reviews of races

Fantastic...if we both ring the helpline to confirm we're swapping that should make it kosher. Also, could you give me your details by email (oj217@cam.ac.uk) so I can tell them when i ring. My mobile number is 07584064893 is you want to get in touch.

We can sort out payment once we've switched the places.

Thankyou!

It's going really well Vonnie. I've been doing 2 x 6 miles through the week then LSR on Sunday. I've been building my LSR up each week am now upto 10 miles. I don't think we necessarily have to build upto 131/2 miles for our LSR as I did do the Bradford 10 Mile last October, when I took part the most I had done was 7 miles. If you do enter let me know then we can meet up

I will keep you posted, sounds like your doing great. I have been out with injury yesterday first time run in 2 weeks it was hard work. If i do enter will be my first ever proper race scary lol. What time of time you hoping for? i see this one has a 3 hour limit i would probably be the one getting sweeped from the side as everyone finished haha !!!

I had to laugh when I read about the sweeping bus!! I did the 10 mile in 1:38 but to be honest Vonnie I just want to finish the half without having to crawl across the line...lol My sister is coming to watch as you do the last lap round the stadium, oh god I hope I'm still running at that point!!!

Vonnie, i feel you really under sell yourself, your times are better than mine and no way would you be over 3 hours for a HM.
Glad to hear you are back, albeit it carefully, fingers crossed no more injuries.

Thanks Lisa . Sharon i am sure you won't be crawling you will be on a high when you see the finish that you will find the energy to run forest run . Just checked the website and enteries are now over 5000 so i imagine if gonna enter need do it tomorrow. I am going to go out for run in the morning see how i am then make decision to bite bullet or not. I think maybe it is too soon as much as i want to do one soonish i think i have probably lacked the training in time for this? I mean my long runs have been non existant really.
