Ah, but that doesn't amount to the slightest bit of hole-digging.
Metaphorical hole-digging is all about where you say something which turns out to be wrong/inaccurate/embarrassing etc... and then where in subsequent attempts to correct matters, you only succeed in making things worse; ie. "digging yourself deeper"
So, no hole for me.
This time. 
Smaller shoes and smaller socks must be cheaper though, eh?
