I've got a 5k race tomorrow night, with a bit of luck I'll run better than my last race and this will give me confidence, I hope.

Woot woot a number at last! Am sure you won't come last, and stop worrying so much over it just enjoy it or try to and remember why you're doing it in the first place! It will be valuable experience and the more you do it, the more relaxed you'll feel in future races so see it as getting some experience under your belt and not the be all and end all! Good luck with 5k too .

If you've got number 1621 in a field of 1600, that means that you're entered in NEXT YEAR'S race. Your feet may have grown a bit by then too.

Good luck to all those in the Manchester 10k on Sunday
Not got my number yet, so if it's not there when I get home I'm screwed 'cos I fly out tomorrow afternoon and the postman doesn't usually make it to our neck of the woods until about 5 O'Clock...
BTW: I checked the weather forecast...bring your waterproofs

Steve if you applied on line that's why it's late coming to you, I rang Graham Jackson who reassured me mine was on it's way.

Hope Steve got his number too - and that the other chap is there too.
Final good luck to everyone - I'm number 412 if you don't recognise me from my avatar and want to say hello
Dimple, I think I may be secretly more nervous than you - I had a dreadful nightmare last night. First I got up late, and by the time I got to the race they were just about to start, but I had to fiddle with attaching my chip to my shoe and couldn't do it, and by the time I had done it, the race was over! They then agreed to let me run it on my own - so I set off but ended up running as fast as I could but just seemed to be going backwards as if the road were a treadmill - and then I ended up completely lost with a load of schoolkids pointing and laughing and saying I would never finish. I think I woke up at the point where I was wandering through a maze of officials at desks, begging for permission to try again, but they pointed to my chip which had actually fallen off...
I must be a borderline psycho, lol! Still, am starting to look forward to it, the worst thing for me will be getting up so early, I find it hard to move before 11am most days, let alone run!
I felt a sense of pride attaching my number to my vest though, and am looking forward to the running, as have been missing it on these last few rest days

LOL, my God that has just made me laugh , what a dream you had. I have those sort of dreams about going on holiday and missing the plane and forgetting my passport.
Don't forget to wave when you wizz past me

Well I managed a time of 59:55 which was my chip time. Just managed under the hour.
With this race I started off slower and felt much better for it. I haven't improved but I really enjoyed it and that's all that matters to me.
I couldn't believe how many runners I passed which did make me feel better usually people pass me, it made me feel a bit better with myself.
How did everyone else find it?
