Lots of water the night before a race

Last week I had a race on Sunday and was out in the pub on Saturday night. Of course, I wasn't drinking due to the fact I was competing the next day.

During the course of the evening I had around 4 pints of water so I was well hydrated come the morning and I have to say I felt great! This is now part of my pre-race ritual!

My water intake does not change the day before a race. Generally I try to drink 2 litres a day - taken little and often.

Had some good runs when hungover - not that I'm recommending it!

Me too! the trouble with drinking so much the night before is that your body will have processed it by the time you race, surely? You'll be peeing for Britain!

I guess it depends on how hydrated yu normally are? If you are good normally there is no real need to drink gallons before a race.

I'd actually switch to sports drinks the day before rather than water.
