I've only been running in the early morning for two days now (love it!), just have a few sips of water and set off after a warm up / stretch.
Breakfast is pretty much the only thing on my mind for the 30 odd min i'm running
I have;
A banana, some berrys, other misc fruit, soy milk, greek yogurt and LSA meal in smoothie form... YUM!

LSA meal? Whats that?

I try not to eat too much at night as I don't like it sitting in my stomach while I toss and turn trying to get to sleep. If I'm going for a long run in the morning, whilst i've not tried one without eating I don't think i'd fancy it; I'd much rather wake up 2 hours before I plan to get up and run and shovel in some brekky whilst half asleep before heading back to bed for another couple of hours.

I'd rather stay in bed... thankfully I'm too tired in the mornings to notice I'm hungry or even think about not running... AND I have the slowest metabolism in the world. I can easily eat at like 7pm the night before a run, wake up at like 8.30, go out straight for a run on nothing, do like 6/7 miles, get back, have a wee snack, and then go about my normal routine which means not eating anything sizeable for like an hour/hour and a half, before I start thinking, yeah I really need to eat now.

Not having breakfast actually slows your metabolism. Your body goes into 'starvation mode' and slows everything down to conserve energy resources

yes... which is one of the reasons why it's said to be the most important meal of the day

I really struggle to run well on an empty stomach - feel low on energy after about 3 miles. Obviouslyit works well for some... Metabolism is an interesting thing
