I'm in and excited about trying something new and what for me will be something quite radical I think. I'll need a lot of guidance though, are you going to talk us through it all initially so we know the 'rules'?

From a quick google, it appears that this is a diet consisting of:
Limited carbs (not like atkins with close to zero, but measured)
No/low processed foods (eg pasta)
Generally, it's living on meat and vegetables that haven't been "messed with", which seems a good idea to me.
I don't think I'll be doing this one, but will watch with interest - I intend to follow a similar diet in some respects - less processed rubbish, more fish and veg, and am keen to understand how you get on

We won't start until 9 Jan, so you have another week.
Re fat loss - Yes, we will be using the scales as an indicator. we will be eating enough protein and drinking plenty of water, so it is 'unlikely' that you will lose muscle mass or be dehydrated.
We will (not compulsory) do a hip to waist ratio measurement too, to get an idea of where we are, and improvements over the two weeks. With the whole carb issue, many people hold body fat around their mid section, so if you see some drop in size there, it will be a good indicator.
This thread is about fat loss, but this should not be your main aim IMHO. Wellness, reduced cravings for carbs and sweet stuff, more energy, uplifted spirit etc are all things to look forward to I hope.
It's a test using eating habits that have worked well for me in the past, and are currently working well now, so hopefully we can all gain some useful insights.
BTW, cheating is not allowed, and if you do, it will mean starting over which is not really possible with a two week test window. I am appalling for stuffing biscuits, chocolate so I am no saint, but when I eat this way, cravings disappear

This one does not exclude some types of dairy, milk is out due to the lactose sugars, but small splashes of double cream in your coffee or tea, and non processed cheeses are in. Saturated fat is not a devil, it just needs to be a part of a balanced fat intake.
And I love cheese!!!!!

That is the gist, but carbs are limited to vegetables, zero processed or refined products for two weeks, then you can (if you choose), slowly introduce unprocessed carbs back and look at your prior symptoms to see if they return. Then you can balance it for your own body.
For people who are doing just aerobic work for the period then veg based carbs will do you fine. If you are doing a lot of anaerobic stuff, then fruit can be used, but it needs to be low GI.
A lot of this is about managing insulin levels, which most of the population are not very good at

The basis if it is 3 meals a day with snacks in between. There is quite a bit of salad with stuff in it, etc, so you could make something up and take it with you.
I have worked a lot of nights in the past..........never again!!!
