Don't think I could list a top five... but I seem to find films with Tom Hanks to be absolutely fantastic, things like Forest Gump, The Terminal, Castaway, Da Vinci Code (perhaps not quite so much) etc...

Films that have a completely different take on life, like things that could actually happen or be real, like the Matrix or the Truman show, or even something like 28days later... complete mind f@ck if you spend too long thinking about it! lol.

Mine would be

1) The Jerk (steve martin) silly but funny, actually i love all steve martin's films
2) Dumb & Dumber
3) Lord of the Rings (trilogy)
4) Star Wars (classics)
5) The deer hunter

I know weird choices, i could probably supply loads of ones i love but these stick out in my head more.

Dont like horrors, prefer happy films and true films, love saving private ryan and pearl harbour etc.

Love Actually
Return to me
Apollo 13
Rocky 4
Harry Potter

Interesting combination! But I have around 200 dvds so trying to pick top 5 was not easy as I like so many films.

Bridget Jones
Truman Show
Wedding Crashers
Apollo 13
Catch me if you can

I don't mind serious films but I have to be in the right mood for them, these I can just watch and watch, I have a very high threshold for watching just about anything too not sure how healthy that is, but I do draw the line at soaps.
