time machines
Reading one of richard simkisses posts got me thinking(dangerous i know)
If you had a time machine that only went backwards to when you were born to the present day what date and point of time would you go back to?
You only get to choose one event !
For me it would be just before i completely crushed a disc in my back
Take it easy

Primary school days! Not a worry in the world (other than how many girls would be playing kiss-chase at break time)... also to stop myself from taking an 11 year break from running.

Are we re-living just one event or is this a chance to go back and start over again from our selected point in the past? Attachment 109

The one event I would love to go to was before I was born - the first ever Superbowl. It's the only one that didn't sell out, so there would be no problem getting a ticket.
But as I have to pick one after I was born, it would have to be the Rush gig in Rio de Janiero. Wathcing the crowd in the DVD of the gig, it looks like there was an amazing atomosphere - and the band played mot of my favourite songs, ever.

Did you see them on the "Snakes And Arrows" tour?
Saw them at the Newcastle Arena. Awesome gig! Attachment 117

Did you sustain that injury whilst leaping from rooftop to rooftop, (as you seem apt to do)?

No it wasn't the roof tops
It was a rayburn cooker i had an argument with 7 cwt:eek:
with regard your other post it's really up to you whether you choose to relive an event or start over, nothing hard and fast, unlike the rayburn when i tried to move it!
take it easy

Back to the thread, folks...
I've thought about it, and there's not really any single event I'd be able to isolate without seemingly devaluing others. So I'm going to have to be boring and go right back to the start and go through everything again so that I can re-live all of my running highs, and even the lows (which make the good bits better, I think). I was WAY further back than you were, I'm afraid. But the big screen displays made sure that everyone got a decent view.
Does Neil Peart EVER smile?

well... I could either go back 1.5hours and make a gel properly cuz now I have to come in tomorrow to do it.... OR I'd go back to the 1950s and "discover" the structure of DNA and prove it's the genetic code before watson and crick. And I'd also "discover" other nobel-winning things. I'd have to take the papers they were published in so I'd know how to do it though... Can't think of anything in my life I'd actually want to re-live... it was all good, but knowing what I do now... I'd do things differently, and then I/things wouldn't turn out the same... and I wouldn't wanna risk that.
