As for previous cars.. my first car was a brown Vauxhall Viva, which I drove into the ground, well, I kind of didn't check the oil for a while...and being an old car it needed quite a lot... and the engine kind of crumpled up all by itself... quite spectacular as I recall

I then went to Mini's, and had a 1969 classic car Mini... I spent bundles on it getting it restored to concourse condition. I even belonged to the Mini Owners Club!

I've had lots of other cars, and a motorbike, but the most comfortable car I had (before Saffi of course) was a Renault Fuego... gorgeous car, so good to drive. Unfortunately it was written off by a daft old bint in a Volvo tank.. gutted I was
Hmm Iwonder what a daft old bint was doing driving a tank on the highway?

My first car was bright blue mini clubman, which I pimped up the best I could ha ha, so sorry to let her go especially as I then went on to buy 2 ford fiestas one after the other, not nearly as fun.

But like you trin there is nothing like going topless is there?

stop 'ing at me Miss

I meant you shouldn't refer to it as a classic mini... it should just be referred to as a Mini, as in my eyes the only REAL Mini was made by Austin/Rover (& BL??)...

I admit that the BMW fwd car titled the "MINI" is a great car in every respect - but it certainly isn't mini in size, and is by no means ground breaking like the real Alec Issoginis' design!

And where's the fun in that? Winter was always an adventure, a journey in the rain would be likened to a trek across the Antartic

I remember the days....

little puddles in the foot well, engine spluttering... and then stopping altogether when pulling up a traffic lights... pushing it to the side of the road, getting soaking wet with head under bonnet... the sweet aroma of WD40

I became quite good at fixing my little minis engine problems in wet weather... even used selotape once... and it worked

my mini's lights would go out when they felt like it most times when I might have gone over a bump in the road, the wipers would sometimes stop working, or the choke would stay out and flood the engine, oh the halcyon days of mini driving

I passed my test 10 years ago when I was 18 and was handed the keys to a company car and a fuel card, used to do between 70,000 and 80,000 miles a year had a different car on average every 6 months. I got a different job and had to leave behind the car and fuel card. Boy did that hurt the wallet. A couple of years passed and Mr Squint and I shared a car, bad move and big mistake. I then got my first even own car that was mine and only mine, it's a Green car too a great big green Land Rover. Thinking of changing the wifes Mondeo soon for something else with the Green Oval on the front.
