Blimey, Stephen has got a lot less common over the years:

Richards have got less common too, which would be why I was surprised at what Richard just written (I'm married to one and my class at school was full of them!) It was in the top 10 or 20 of my age group, whereas it's in danger of falling out of the top 100 now. I'm still surprised you were such a rarity though RS, it was still 27th most popular in the 80s.
My own name has got much more common, in contrast. Languishing around 100th when I was born, it's around 20th now. That would explain why I was the only one in my whole school

whereas they seem to be everywhere now

I spent all my life knowing that if anyone called my name, it was bound to be me they were after. Now I'm having to learn to ignore it if I'm out, as it's almost certainly someone calling their small child.
Lisa's the one that's changed the most, though - one of the very top names in the 60s/70s, down to below 400th now
