What amazes me more is that you need a license to drive a car and even to own a television but any idiot can breed. Could they not start doing some kind or vasectomy at birth and then you need to pass a series of tests to prove your suitability as a potential parent before being granted a reversal on succesful completion of said assesment and means test.

Squint, while I agree with you previous posts, please be careful.... Not every couple have the luxury of choice.

Cheeses me off? Dogs and traffic.
... Noisy neighbours. When I was younger, I remember there being sort of an unwritten rule which said that you don't make excessive noise before 9am or after 9pm. My OH was brought up with the same rule. Does anyone else observe this kind of social etiquette, or is it merely an archaic eccentricity followed by a well-mannered minority?

I think you've identified the problem, we are the silent majority with the minority making all the noise as usual.

I never get the mower out before 9.30am and will always stop noisy DIY after 8.00pm

Sr8pe, Mrs Squint and I know this more than anyone we have suffered 7 miscarriges in our time together. It is made more difficult by the fact that when you go to the hospital you have to pass women heavily pregnant due any minute standing outside having a cigarette and already complaining about parenthood. We have been very lucky once and now have a gorgeous Baby Squint, see picture.

I used to annoy the hell out of one of my old neighbours by cutting the grass at half six in the morning. But his dogs had been barking all though the night which he always denied they did (the kennel was closer to our house than his). Mrs Squint stopped my one morning at 3 am from knocking on his door to tell him.

Please don't start me on nieghbours, we have the ultimate nieghbour from hell. Numerous visits from the Police, court appearances and still the harassment continues. Because she is a 'little old lady' it seems there is nothing any one can do to help us.
