Well, when you get into your 30s and don't really do the whole "clubbing and pubbing" thing, it is difficult to meet other singletons. And when most of your friends are in relationships, it is even more difficult. I figured I had to just take the plunge. At least with dating sites, you can pretty much get an idea of what someone is like and at least you know they are single and like you if they are wanting to meet up, which makes it easier. But there are definitely some weirdos, or people with "issues", on these sites, but they usually give themselves away in what they write about themselves. It is also interesting sociologically analysing what people are looking for. You would not believe how many women seem to have a "shopping list" right down to specific eye colour. And they wonder why they are single But this woman I'mm meeting in 3 hours seems pretty normal, down to earth and interesting, so at the very least I'll have a nice drink and interesting conversation I'm not going in with any expectations. Just thought it might be fun.

Believe me, you aren't missing out on very much. Single life isn't, at least for me, very fulfilling. Although I do get the whole bed to myself

Seems madam, nay it is!

Us women want you to think we're normal - we open the can of crazy once you're hooked!

I'm sure she'll be very nice - good luck!

Just got back from my date and I think it went really well. She was really nice and friendly and I think we hit it off. She was also really hot more than her pic suggested. Anyway, we met just for a drink but ended up going for dinner at my favourite fish restuarant. It was nice. I insisted on paying for dinner, so I just hope she isn't a fem-nazi and takes offense. Anyway, I will email her and tell her I had a nice time and ask if she wants to meet up again soon. We shall see

Result I sent an email and she mailed right back and said she had a great time and would love to meet up next weekend. She said she hadn't smiled so much in ages Now I just have to think of something to do for a second date hmmm.

I know where there's a cracking owl sanctuary.

Don't worry JB if you don't get that - it's an Alan Partridge reference

I'm glad it all went so well for you.
