I went over a bonnet!!

I was in the last mile of my run today, minding my own business, and enjoying being out there in the sun. I was running on a path which runs alongside but is set down from the main A38 road. On the left there are rather large houses behind equally large hedges and walls with the occasional driveway across the path.

All of a sudden I am lying across the bonnet of a car that has shot out of his driveway at speed without looking, if I had been a 10th of a second quicker or he had been a 10th of a second slower the car would have taken me out side on.

As I climbed back off his bonnet he did apologise and ask if I was ok, but I was too shocked to say much other than "yes, I think so". I do remember saying something beginning with 'f' as I went over the car though.

So be careful out there everyone...it's not even safe on the pavement!

As it happens I was almost taken out today aswell but it was my fault so.

At least he apologised which is more than a lot would say.

Glad to see you're still with us, that must have been terrifying. From the sound of your post there is no permanent damge done, which is a good thing.

Thanks everyone, yes, I'm ok...physically anyway, just a bit shook up.

BASE.. I've heard of them before, and I have always thought they were a good idea..this experience has definitely prompted me to get one!

It did a bit... running home felt a bit strange, I didn't know whether to stop and take it easy or just carry on regardless

Glad your ok Trin Sounds like he is a right plonker not edgeing out of his drive, a small child could have been running along and they would have stood no chance.

What an inconsiderate arse of a driver.

I'm so glad you're OK, Trinity, and hope he's a bit more careful in future.
