Im a web designer for the government during the day and then run my own business in the evenings / weekend as a Traction Kite instructor (www.tractionkiting.co.uk), event organiser and freelance web designer.
I enjoy running and also kiting. Other hobbies include cycling, although I havent been on my bike in well over a year due to lack or storage space in my flat to keep the bike!

We teach people tools for the road, i.e positioning, and braking.....the technique to braking stops people locking up and losing the front end skittling them down the road. I also learnt a huge amout about how to brake hard and safely in a car. The other big fact is cornering, how to corner smoothly and effectively, and more importantly how to avoid the un expected.

This is life, in our paternitiy things like this happens alot....it hurts but life moves on. I was lucky not to be another number on the boards, but i survived.

Just to clarify.....my riding was stupidly excesive in speed, dangerous, and reckless. Thats why i came off.

A) 186 was on a private road, wasn't it Stacka

B) Highsides can happen at 10mph, so it's not irresponsible or fast riding which does it. Not saying anything about stupidity though rofl!!!

A) Erm.........yes it was, no first time was on the back straight at snetterton, second time was on the M6....done it loads in germany on the way back from Nordscliffe. The GSXR has a speed limiter at 186. So it wont show more.....but put it this way....the speedo shows 186, but still the revs climb.

B) Yeah highsiding is more prominant at speed, i was being a prat.

I had a gin nano 13m2 speedfly wing that I groundlaunched with, I thought about sticking one of these boards on and using it in a similar way to the Europeans speedflying with skis... I never got my hand on a board so could not test, but a few people said that it would be problematic with out foot release binds.... thoughts???

What sort of boards were you looking at, do you mean snow boards or land boards?

I work in submarines. The rest of my time is mainly taken up with travelling to and from work, 80 miles one way. Used to enjoy mountain biking but not had much time lately and found running has taken over.

Yes, it gets a bit wet on the upper deck. Last trip everyone was restricted to 30 mins on the treadmill daily. The problem is actually getting a space around the shifts booked before they all go. The thing was constantly moving and luckily never broke. We only have 1.

I work as an overseas escort for the immigration service (I basically take foreign criminals and illegal immigrants back home when they refuse to leave the UK on their own accord). I also work on the doors at the weekend. I enjoy shooting both Rifle and shotgun and often go and get beaten up down at my local Muay Thai club. I am also commissioned in the reserve forces (although I have been inactive for the past two years) and may be going back as a recruit-training officer in the next month or so. I love animals and have a Springer spaniel, ferrets and a lovely parrot. Oh and I also have a wife which is nice.

Land boards... so you could ground launch off hills without snow, and then use the wheels for touch and goes....

With goundlaunching you try and hug the hill as much as possible, so I thought with the wheel based board this may add another dimension... ?? Although I guess these maybe quite heavy and then wing loadings maybe effected and re-thought?!

If you get a decent board they weigh hardly anything at all, but you need to pay the price for that! Your looking in the region of £250 or more for a light weight board, the landing might be interesting though, if speedwings are the same as Paragliders, if you twist your body it will affect the canopy. When land boarding you will need to twist your body so you can ride it like a skateboard, once you take off you can straighten your body again but then coming in to land you will need to twist again to get the wheels pointing in the correct direction.

I reckon it could be done, but not sure how the trucks will withstand the hardish landings made.....you would also need to use mountainboard bindings with a heel strap so you don't loose the board while in the air.....
