Where are you going to see Geddy & co. I will be making it as far as the SECC, which, as I'm sure you are aware has the worst acoustics on the planet. My brother went to see them in Prague last time, v jealous!

I'm having a bit of a blow out this summer:

New York, boston and Cape Cod!

Hoping to take my running shoes for a jaunt round Central Park!

Life is one long holiday for my partner and I, but our main fortnight this year will be spent in the Swiss Alps from the end of August. We start at Grindelwald with a few days mountaineering, then a three day walk over the highest part of the Alpine Pass route to a favourite site of ours at Kandersteg for more mountaineering and mountain running. Unfortunately we've no race planned this year. Sadly the MV75 category has this year been struck out of the World Masters Mountain Running Championships - just when I was getting ready to win it!
Cheers!

Ever thought about, or indeed done, the Swiss Alpine runs in Davos RF?

Not yet Steve. Had it recommended but never got round to it, and this year it clashes with another important race. We'd only attempt the 21K race and can't find out much about it. I'd like to see a copy of last years results to find out who does it and what sort of times they run, but can't find any on the 'net.
Cheers!

Try www.alpine-davos.ch
I can't surf the site at the moment to give you ideas of times as I'm blocked out by the firm's surf police!

SWMBO and I plan to do the less arduous of the two 42ks next year for our 10th anniversary. We found out about the races when we were on honeymoon in Davos in 1998.

I'm going to Glasgow, Newcastle and Manchester, thereby managing to see the first and last nights of the UK tour. I've also got to squeeze in the Dream Theater show in between times - all in the last four weeks of my marathon training.

I went to the first night at Wembley on the R30 tour and the sound was far worse than the SECC - and Rush have had the best sound I've heard at the SECC.

Greetings from sunny Croatia

Its hot and, more importantly, dry here...

Rich and I have been running every other day, mostly round the island, which is absolutely gorgeous. We also ran nearly 9 miles in 30 degree heat on the mainland on Sunday, so you see we are not slacking on the training despite being on holiday.

Today was a rest day...and we spent 6 hours of it laid out on a <<whispers>> naturist beach I now have a few more red bits...which require much cream

in other words we were laid out on a slab of rock from 0800 till 1400!!

the coastguard came out coz someone reported two new moons but it turned out to be my shiny white @rse and the panic was soon over!!

of course it was quite romantic really . . but not so romantic as our day trip to Venice on Saturday which was a wonderful experience and one which (a) we won't ever forget and (b) we intend to repeat when the opportunity arises

time to go . . we'll be back on here later in the week . . hope you're all avoiding the storms and keeping dry

Assuming you're off to Austria for a relaxing Ironman. I really do wish you well. I was spectating in Zurich the other week, it really is an awesome event. What time are you aiming for (if any)
