speaking of which...
having just got off the phone with someone this afternoon who was having a rant at me for doing something that I hadn't done my 'easy 6' turned into
8.05 ...glad to be out and off the phone
7.37 ...how dare they accuse me of that!
7.42 ...just let it go Trin
7.38 ...but FFS I didn't deserve to be spoken to like that!
7.26 ...I'm going to phone the other party when I get back and put the record straight
7.07 ...as soon as I get in!
0.26 mile at 7.04
Spoke to 3rd party straight away when I got home... sorted, happier
I really shouldn't have run like that today though

Arrrrrghhhhhhh - again
I don't believe it.
I've got a underactive thyroid and take tablets for it every day - the tablets have built up in my system enough to basically make me over-active. The symptoms include increased heart rate, making it hard to train, and lack off sleep, which makes it hard to recover.
This explains why I've had a few bad weeks of training and a worse than expected time for my last half.
I've got another half and a couple of 10km's over the next couple of weeks, but it's likely that I'll have to take a week or two of no training or very short easy sessions. The result being crap results.
Boooo.

How long since you was diagnosed Grant? It took them a year to get my meds right, in fact I had to self medicate for a while when they insisted that the dose was adequate, even though I could barely function from being constantly lethargic and tired...when I told them I was taking a higher dose regardless, all of a sudden they decided to listen to me... that was two years ago.

I was over-active until I got the radioactive drink to stop it working at the start of 2004. I've had the same dose of thyroxine for the past 3-3.5years now. The previous blood test was slightly on the high side, but the current test seems to show an even bigger increase in thyroxine levels.
Having suffered the tiredness and lethargy myself, I can understand how bad you felt, Trinity. Fortunately, my GP is pretty on the ball and seemed to get the medication sorted pretty quickly. Hopefully, things will get sorted quickly this time too.

That's good then... I've heard a lot of horror storys about GPs and thyroid meds... I'm certainly not alone.
Glad you have a GP who gets it right!

I just got my blood test results from last week - all 'Satisfactory' - so I don't have thyroid or any other abnormalities (other than being me!!) Still doesn't explain why I can't shift a few pounds though - thats annoying not knowing why!? It sounds horrendous having to have the drugs for thyroid though...

glad to hear you're satisfactorily normal betty (medically at least )
Out of interest - I've been scratching my head on this one for a while now... your avatar pic... it's you... isn't it? or is it? I mean it looks like you, but also looks like pose from some kind of action movie magazine feature or something?!

if you mean Betty's am I right in saying that's the girl from Battlestar Galactica, wondering if that is her when she plays a baddie in the now cancelled wonder woman.
today got the map out and went offroad before brekkie, fun stuff, slow but kind of working out a new off road route, got back v v muddy. An hour to only do 4.5 miles. Anyway i needed something easy as i'm racing on Saturday.

Yes - she does - but you mean Bionic Woman! Definitely prefer Battlestar though... tried Bionic Woman and thought whatshername from Eastenders was a bit stiff an actor in it ... although her accent was believable. Can't wait for more Battlestar!
