I missed the fight, gutted. I heard some of the post fight interview and he was saying that champions get knocked down and get back up again. So full of himself but fair play to him he has made a good living out of it.

Cockiness seems to be neccessary for boxers though (sweeping generalisation i know) especially if Khan, Naseem and the heavyweight guys who are always talking big.

It's that attitude that makes me support the other guy/team in any sport. There's a lot of difference between someone like Federer who (until recently ) knew he was the top of his sport and talked with a lot of confidence and someone who talks him/herself up, especially when they can't back it up.

I agree. I actually want Federer to beat Andy Murray in the US open final. I am a big Federer fan, and really can't stand the personality of Murray. He is so arrogant. I think Federer will struggle against him, but hopefully can keep it together and get grand slam number 13. I just want him to beat Sampras' record, then I will happily cheer on Nadal to start his attack on the records.

I'm not a big Murray fan either, but I do like watching Amir Khan boxing.

Most of his opponents have been too easy for him, so it was good to hear he had fought a decent opponent at last. I think he needed the loss - he was getting a bit full of himself, plus it will probably help his learning curve in the ring.

One decent punch and that was it. Probably the first decent punch he has taken in his career. Naseem was the same. First decent opponent he met knocked the stuffing right out of him too. These British guys are so protected by their managers, picking and choosing dodgy bouts just to raise the fighters profile, but they have to fight someone decent sooner or later (usually transatlantic) and then things go pear.

Mind you his Bambi impression was quite something

There is one RS...not seen myself.

Reminded me of Kirkland Laing a few years back sticking out his chin inviting his opponent to hit it...so he did and laid him out...classic!

I am torn between Murray and Federer - either one winning would be a plus for tennis for different reasons - Murray winning would be "ace" for British Tennis, for a start.

I don't mind arrogance in sports people - from what I've seen lately Murray has been quite humble off the court, and with what he's done he is entitled to be a little full of himself when playing. There are plenty of people who are arrogant without anything to back it up! I do want Murray to win, I think - having a big quartet of Djokovich, Federer, Nadal and Murray as rivals could prove a lot more interesting than more Federer Nadal finals.

As for the boxing, a similar thing happened to Lennox Lewis when Hasim Rachman knocked him out in the 5th one time, in the rematch Lennox came back and totally outclassed him, and went on to knock Tyson around giving him a real boxing lesson, so hopefully this will be the real start for Khan

Ito, I wathced it on youtube too, Khan was totally outclassed. He couldn't believe himself that he'd been knocked down by the look of him after he got up the first time.

Aye that one punch did all the damage. A complete haymaker. You could see his legs go straight away and you knew he was in trouble. It was obvious when he got up the first time that he couldn't go on. Wonder if he'll ask for a rematch.

He had barely even had the chance to warm up, taken completely by surprise this is the first real opponent that has taken the fight to him. Boy did he suffer. That sweet spot punch was the end for him and his opponent saw that and took full advantage. Followed it up and didn't give him a second to recover.

Yeah he was totally outclassed & out of his depth & the worrying thing for him,the opponent was'nt even in the worlds top ten. He will be back & even may win a world title but he has'nt got the chin to unify the division ! Prince naseem got out of the game when he was outclassed by Barrera,he was fed no hopers up until then !
