...have you ever done any voluntary work?

I'm off for a 4 hour shift of voluntary work with the Sea Cadets later and am also arranging to do some voluntary work at a local primary school soon....

i used to do a 2nd hand book stall for a local hospice.. 8am - 3pm on a sat.. i use'd to really enjoy it.. ive also been on the front page of most of the local papers doing work for the same charity whists wearing a medieval fancy dress outfit (it pretty much looked like a dress)

ahh i miss having enough spare time to actually do thoese things

also.. for what i get paid.. pretty much every day is voluntary

I did volunteer for Hospital Radio - years ago! I did the show from Cheltenham Nursing home, covered about 3 hospitals (including Chelt. General) - alongside 'DJ' Edward Rose. It was nice going round taking requests - particularly in the children's ward.

I've done a few projects with schools and things, though that's always been during work/university hours, so not really a commitment of my own free time.

I don't think I've done any either...although I did used to help out at the local Brownies group and stuff...does that count?

I used to be a Sunday school teacher, but you couldn't call that voluntary, cos my auntie made me. I also used to help out at a social group for adults with learning disabilities when I was at school, but I have become lazy and self-centred since then, shame on me!

...and for you it shall be my mission to post it as often as possible...and for anyone else of course!


So I did my shift...humping and lumping stuff around most of the time...did make a couple of brews though!!

I want to, but with my mum and my topsy turvy business demanding my time, I can't give much of a commitment.

There's actually an area of work I might want to get back into at some point, so might do some volunteer work along those lines to get back into the swing of it - or does mercenary, self-interested volunteering not count

I worked voluntary in a school for special needs kids for a while and then they offered me a part time job as classroom assistant, which I did for about 6 months

I'm not off topicing or responding to any odd comments any more....if others decide to misinterpret then so be it.

Just read a notice on a door and stepped inside...shall be doing every week for time being.
