I've just invested in a set of sennheiser LX70, I hope they live up to their reputation!!

I use these (although I don't run to music... except that that I can hear in my head )
To fit them, you have to sort of slightly stretch your ear open by pulling on your lobe, push the earphones in, then let your ear close around them again. Snug fit. But you won't hear the traffic, which is either good or bad, depending on what you want.

I promised a review of the earpiece I bought so here it is -

The sound quality isn't bang and olufsen but for one ear it is more than adequate. You will ifnd you need to turn things up a notch to get it to a similar level. It comes with both ear molds in a small and large size in each. The earpiece fits snuggly and pretty secure (hasn't fallen out yet!). The tube is durable and is coiled so avoids drag down. A good length of wire from the clip to the plug. The clip has a lot of flexible positions so you should be able to find the one for you.

I have yet to perfect the position for me though. I am using it with my camel-pak on my back so getting the clip in the right position so the tube doesn't fall off the top of my ear.


I would recommend it for those who listen to music in areas with lots of traffic because you can still hear trouble coming whilst still being able to enjoy the radio. And for £20 from America including P+P it is a really decent price.

As a hearing aid user this looks quite interesting, but having seen the picture, I'm concerned that the tube relies on the sound coming quite a distance from the source and therefore losing some volume on the way.

Obviously being H of H the last thing I need is any loss of volume. Any reassurance on that?

It's about getting out there and doing the distance, time doesn't matter apart from making it.

I must say when I changed from normal earphones to this earpiece, without changing the volume level, it was a bit lower. But you have to take into account it is just one ear aswell so outside noise takes that level down again.

So I'd say that if you factor in hearing difficulties it could significantly reduce the volume level and perhaps not the best purchase but you could email your concerns to the company as they would have a definitve answer.

The ones you posted are the ones I have, and I love them. The little piece that goes in the ear is memory-foam so it squishes and forms to the inside of your ear and sticks in there really good. I even hear a little *pop* of suction when I pull them out. They come with extra memory foam pieces in case you lose them

And I had the same problem with headphones before.

What I need is a hearing aid that links into the ipod via an induction loop and also copes with sweat. With the latter proving almost impossible to eleviate, it looks like the search continues!

Having said that though, with the current injury issues, it looks like the search can be halted for the time being

I also use Etymotics - the ER6i model. They are mega-expensive, and take some getting used to, but the sound is great and they NEVER fall out.

I was using Sennheiser CX300 but they kept falling out, and somewhere I have some of those with a hook over the ear but they are excruciatingly uncomfortable but still fall out.

I've spent A LOT of Money on headphones and the ones that work best for me: best sound and stays in the ear when wet are the MX75 Sport (Twist to Fit)
