Hello,

I signed up for the Lisbon marathon this December. Has anyone had any experiences?
I have been to Lisbon before, and I know it's quite a hilly city - is the marathon route very hilly? ...or do they keep it flat?

Any hints are greatly appreciated!!

Don't know about the marathon but did the half there last year and that was flat, apart from the downhill at 4km. The race starts on the big bridge so we had to go downhill for a bit. Slightly boring course as it was predominantly out and back along the river

I did it last year as well. It won't be too warm and the course stays away from most hills.
Boring course as one other poster said. They go out and back the river and then up through some of the town, this is the hilly part but it is not too bad, then back down and out and back the river a few more times.
Not very exciting but if the course was around the city it would be hill after hill.
Lovely city though.
