Good God...
Weird, weird run today.
Set off earlier than last week, but got there later... In fact the bus dropped me off at the bottom of the hill, I checked the time and it was 8:45 - and the start line was a 15 mins walk away, so time for an impromptu warmup. Had been feeling a bit sick on the bus, and felt awful jogging up the hill and had to stop - then jogged through a swamp as I took the shortcut over the field. So had wet feet. Needed to use the loo, a kid came screaming out of one cubicle, I went in, and saw why - let's just say, how does a person manage to miss like that? Still, needs must... By this point had about 2 mins left, and Garmin couldn't find the satellite.
Off you go, they said, and I thought I started the Garmin, but half way round the track I glanced at it - 0:00:00. Oops. So I started it and after about 2 more minutes I was feeling half dead. Kept going. Whatever official distance I'd done, the Garmin ticked over one k in 5:30 and the next one in 6 mins, I started swearing, I have not run that slowly apart from a warmup or cool down jog recently. So I just kept going, feeling half dead.
Sort of came alive and had a bit of a burst of speed in the last K, and sprinted for the finish.
Garmin useless so awaited results - ended up with an improvement on last week so a course PB by 13 seconds in 25:14. God knows what was going on with the Garmin telling me I was running 6 minutes per k, I certainly didn't run a sub 4 one to make up the deficit...
Well, am sure when feeling better and without Twilight Zone things happening, should be able to get that time down on future runs

congrats rob. had a bad day myslef, somehow managed to lose my cash card in morrisons on the way there, but thankfully someone ha handed it in while i was still grabbing a few bits and pieces and then running around looking for it.
got to the park run (heaton) a little later than i wanted to becasue of it, but still with a good 5 mins before it started.
as mentioned elsewhere i'd had to take a 2 week rest after an ankle injury. first run since silverstone and a new 5k pb 26.20 (previous 27.43). its also the first time my wava has crept above 50 (50.06).

cheers Rob. you should get some long rests in lol.
i think the frustration of not being able to run finally got released and helped give that extra kick when i needed it.
similar thing happened over xmas. before i could only run 3k before i had a walk, 4 weeks off with kids then weather and i reeled off a 5k first time back out in training without coming close to walking.

Good turnout today at Heaton Park...No worries about me missing the start got there at 8. Well im a Yorkshireman so i wanted to get parked before the parking chap got there :-) ( saved a £ ) ..Managed to knock a full second of my PB 24.41, which I was suprised at because i felt sluggish today.

Haha, an eventful morning for all it seems!
This morning started great. Having received yesterdays news that I had passed my nursing exam and assignments, I felt brilliant and stress-free. I woke up at 7:45, and cycled to Park Run. I got there with 20 minutes to spare, so some dynamic lunges, bum-kicks and high knees to warm up.
Last week I ran 22:36 in 159th place. This week I finished 134th in 22:21, giving me a new PB by 15 seconds. However, despite queuing and having my barcode scanned, I appear as unknown on the results page, so it hasn't recorded my participation in the run, my personal best, or my points. I'm definitely claiming it though!

It'll most likely only be a couple of weeks before I get a new PB. I just don't want to lose the run though, as I want my 50 t-shirt as soon as possible!
