Chocolate eclair topping recipe required
I know it's not healthy, but as someone else said everyone has to treat themselves some time!
I'm intending to make chocolate eclairs on Sunday but I've not yet found the right recipe for the chocolate topping - it's either hardened like chocolate, or it's too runny like chocolate sauce. I need something almost fudgy.
Any ideas?!
Thanks!

So simple it just might work Steve!
Hows about following the runny mix recipe, but halving the quantities of any liquids or anything that might make it gooey-er...?!

I just found this -
12 ounces Semisweet chocolate chips
¼ cup Shortening
¼ cup Light corn syrup
6 tablespoons Milk
GLAZE: In top of double boiler, over hot (not boiling) water, melt chocolate with shortening. Add corn syrup and milk. Stir until smooth and well blended. Let cool slightly. Spread glaze over eclairs. Makes 2 cups. Will glaze 12 eclairs.
I have NO idea what 'shortening' is - American??
Otherwise go to Tesco - buy cheap eclairs - scrape off topping (consuming rest of evidence) and spread over new home-made eclairs. Da Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

It's a bit of a cheat, but you can get Betty Croker chocolate icing in a tub in the bakery section of the supermarket - that's quite thick, fudgy and naughty.
