No problems with space. It would be possible to detail your exact route, but I don't have any of these running gadgets so it'd be tricky to do.
However it's certianly an idea. Perhaps for version 3
For anyone wondering "well when the bloody hell are you going to make anything then, huh huh? When?? I want my improved training blog now you tosspot. DO IT NOW".
For anyone thinking that, I doubt it'll be done before christmas. We need to sort out quite a few other things first.
But it definitely will get done.

Personally I like the blog the way it is in terms of accessing it - my only quibbles / suggestions are related to the information we can and are forced to enter:
1. That as few fields as possible are made compulsory when adding a new post. (Reason: I just updated my blog to talk about having played footy with people at work tonight, and other related things, so I didn't have a running distance to put in. However, because it demands that I put a distance in, I ended up just putting 0.1 miles in, which feels a bit odd.)
2. That in the "Type of session" dropdown menu, there is a choice for "Other", which allows me to just manually type in the kind of session it was (i.e. Football session).
3. That as many fields as possible have an option to not enter anything (like the "Surface" dropdown menu)
4. That the "Weather" dropdown menu was simply a text box I could type my own weather description into.

Some good points essell, a few I think have been noted already but definately worth re-iterating. Particularly the addition of other sports (e.g. football, which I currently put down as "Gym - Cardio..."), requirement for distance... (though a "you haven't entered a distance, are you sure you want to leave it blank?" message may be useful) and also 'surface' type.

Another suggestion for the training blog.
Give an option to add your running shoes to the blog.
This can then be a drop down menu so the user can put the miles against the shoes that they have used. This would allow the person to track how many miles they have done per pair of shoes.
I would find this handy as it would give me an indication on when I should look at getting a new pair due to getting close to the 600miles...

I'm sure that was suggested at some point but looking back through the posts I can't see it. It'd be silly not to include it.

Like the idea of your own weather description- was just thinking on my run today that it would be good to be able to qualify the weather, because "raining", for example, might mean anything from drizzling a bit to absolutely lashing it down. It was really windy today, the kind of wind that you have to fight your way through, and I was wondering how I could differentiate between that and just a bit breezy, really...

I don't think this has been suggested already, but forgive me if I've missed it.
It would be really useful to be able to copy a previous entry and then make minor changes (like the date/time and weather). I'm sure I'm not the only one who does effectively the same run more than once, and it would make things easier.
Also (or possibly instead of the above, though I'd still like to be able to copy the lot!), it would be handy if we could set up routes, with distances and surface all together. Currently, you can pick from your list of set up routes, but for any route, the distance and surface are unlikely to change much (perhaps it could be set up so that we could overwrite if necessary - eg it's a lap route and you cover it 2 or more times in a given run).
Thanks

Good idea BPC! I like the idea of sort of 'templates' based on certain routes where most of the fields are filled in for you once you select your regular route, then you can just adjust your time and weather + notes if you wish

The shoe size is already on the list.
That 'copy entry' is a good idea. Nice one.
At the moment we're working on anti-spam and the races section, however I've got training blog planned for after that. It'll be a couple of months at least.

I wouldn't really want anyone post in my blog but myself. In the training blog could we have a corssing training other and on the surfaces could we have treadmill added.

Route mapping is an interesting idea though would anyone want to publicly display the route they run... wouldn't that be something only useful to the runner?
