More responsive site

I've added a little hack that should make the site seem much much more responsive as you click around, those on slower connections (or those downloading things in the background) should notice quite a substantial difference.

This is supported by Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer. I'm not sure if Safari or Opera do, but I'd imagine so.

I'd like some feedback if anyone notices the difference

I'm using the VB default skin at work (on IE6), does the mod apply to that as well? It certainly feels a lot quicker loading pages - though I don't know if that's just because you've said it should be?

Not really noticed a difference at home IE7 & FF3, but then it's never really been slow at home.

It works across all skins, but the vb default is light on images so you won't notice so much of a performance gain.

Analytics isn't affected, it still loads, but it probably loads a lot sooner thus the "loading analytics" message won't appear, since it's saying "loading runnersforum"

Same here - IE6.xx at work. Seems quicker, but it could be psychosomatic. Could be because there aren't many people using the interweb at work.

At home, no real difference - seems to load as quickly as other VB forums that I use.

It's more a visual improvement, pages will appear to display quicker. And those on slower conns (and old pcs) should notice the difference more.

Everyone else will probably be the same. For me, start to end times have gone from 2 or 3 secs to about 0.7.

It's not too big a deal anyway, just a quick free hack.

It's definitely quicker for me, as I had big problems before.

I notice it over the GSM network

Wifi seems the same, but then I am not timing it with a stopwatch.
