running shoe advice-Stoke on Trent

Hello All,
New to running but already aware I need a proper pair of running shoes.

I see I need to go somewhere that will give me correct advice bearing in mind my biomechanics and thought that JJB etc would do the job but apparently not - does anyone know of somewhere in the Stoke on Trent or Staffordshire area that I can trust to shod me properly?
much obliged

I asked a similar question for my area, Runda. One of the suggestions I received was this website which covers all areas and does include the shop I subsequently visited.

There are two specialist running shops that I know of in Stoke:
Bourne Sports on Church Street, running department is upstairs
Sub-4 (not sure where exactly but you could google it?)

Bourne Sports sometimes has video gait analysts from the various shoe brands come in most Saturdays, who would be able to give you solid advice on what type of shoe suits your particular style. Try the shoe they recommend and then try the equivalent version from other brands and go for the one that fits you the best.

Hi Runda

Welcome to the forum, did you manage to get to a good running shop for shoe advice?

Hi TT,

Sorry I haven't checked this thread for a while. I'm not going to be able to buy any till the 1st of December but I did call Bourne Sports and spoke to a lady who told me to give them a call and let them know I was coming and someone would be available. She said the best day to go is Friday. I'm doing ok with my trainers but I know I need proper running shoes...because I'm worth it!!!
